Mission Statement
The Mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Utah & Idaho is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.

U.S. Senator E.J. "Jake" Garn
Experience: Mayor, Salt Lake City; elected United States Senator for 3 terms, receiving the largest victory (74%) in a statewide race in Utah history; Chairman US Senate Banking Committee; NASA Astronaut with 108 Earth orbits; The Jake Garn Mission Simulator and Training Facility, NASA’S prime training facility for the Shuttle and Space Station programs, is named after him; kidney donor to his daughter, saving her life; appointed former Chancellor (“roaming ambassador”) of the National Kidney Foundation; a preeminent force for the promotion of organ donation throughout the country, resulting in saving many lives through the miracle of organ transplantation.

Dr. Harry O. Senekjian
Award Recipient: 2018 National Kidney Foundation Medical Advisory Board Distinguished Service Award. Recently inducted into the Fellowship of the National Kidney Foundation, (FNKF). Experience: Chairman NKFUI Medical Advisory Board more than 20 years; American Board of Internal Medicine; (Internal Medicine and Nephrology); National Board of Medical Examiners; Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, University of Utah; Past President Ogden Surgical Medical Society; Responsible for integrating Nephrology into Utah Continuing Medical Education Conferences; Past Medical Director of the Seager Memorial Homeless Clinic; recipient of the NKFUI’s most Distinguished award for “Setting a Standard of Excellence in Humanitarian and Community Service.”
